About Us

I am the oldest child and have always taken care of others. I always knew in my heart at an early age that I was destined for something great and would make a difference in other people lives.  I became a registered nurse to fuel my passion of helping others during challenging times in patients’ lives.

As with all the world, I watched the pandemic changed our nation and our lives. I began to take my health more seriously and did not want to become a statistic. During the pandemic there was a moment of uncertainty for health care workers. Nurses had a duty to fulfill, and it was done unselfishly.

Personally, I never felt so helpless because it was so much uncertainty. When COVID hit close to our home and the loss of several family members caused me so much stress and anxiety.  I needed an outlet and a way to decompress from all the things that was going on around me.

I started making candles as an outlet. I have made candles as a hobby in the past, but nothing of significance. I started this journey to help others to relax, rejuvenate, and recharge. Candle scents can help with creativity and bring back fond memories. This was the birth of DeVotions by TAME. TAME is the first 2 initials of my first and last name. The V is capitalized in DeVotions to represent the candle are vegan. 

I wanted to make healthy candles not only for my customers, but for the environment. DeVotions by TAME candles are vegan and is made with high quality coconut and apricot wax, highest grade of fragrances, and hand poured by yours truly.  

I hope you enjoy DeVotions scents, and it helps you to relax, rejuvenate, & recharge. I always have been aspired to become the best version of myself and this is just the beginning.
